Jesse Marsch has shared that he is still keeping an eye on Leeds United as they aim to make a return to the Premier League.

This time last year, the American had just been fired from his Elland Road gig, which didn’t exactly change matters because the club went tumbling down and suffered relegation to the Championship.

There was a lot of mess to pick up for Daniel Farke, but he has done a remarkable job so far, as Leeds United currently sit in the automatic places in the Championship table.

One player who has been a shining light for the team has been highly-rated youngster, Archie Gray.

Jesse Marsch shared that he is ‘really happy’ the 17-year-old is now being given the game time because he is a ‘good young talent’, as he told Sky Sports News (19/02/24 at 5:55 pm).

A midfielder by trade, the Leeds United academy product has been operating at right-back for a number of months now and he is doing a pretty good job.

This is a player who was first brought onto the scene by Marcelo Bielsa, before Jesse Marsch got to see him first-hand and now he is cooking under Daniel Farke.

“Yes, I have,” responded Marsch when asked if he has kept an eye on Leeds United’s results.

“They are playing good football. It’s good to see a lot of the young lads that were establishing themselves when I was there really starting to play well.

“It’s good to see Archie Gray establishing himself as a good young talent. I am really happy for him. I think they are on a pathway right now to get themselves back in the Premier League.”

Will Leeds United earn promotion back to the Premier League?

If Leeds want to make that return, they have to make sure they get that final automatic place because they and the play-offs just don’t mix.

Everyone will remember what happened the last time they were in that position, it didn’t end well, even though they went on to storm the Championship the following season.

Regardless of who else is in the play-offs, you just know that if Leeds are in it, then all the limelight and pressure will be on them.

Perhaps these young guns, such as Crysencio Summerville, will thrive off it because they don’t have the scars and are playing fearless football.
