Heung-Min Son cut a frustrated figure at full-time last night after Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-2 win over Vitesse Arnhem.
Son was interviewed by Spurs’ official website, and he spoke about how annoyed he was with his side’s performance.
What’s the story?
Tottenham may have picked up an important three points in the end, but on Antonio Conte’s first match in charge they also highlighted their vulnerability.
Tottenham raced into a 3-0 lead in the early stages, with Son scoring the first goal of Conte’s reign.
However, Vitesse managed to pull two back before half-time and then gave Spurs a real scare in the second half.
After Cristian Romero was sent off, Tottenham had to really dig in to avoid conceding again.
Spurs did manage to pull through and claim the three points in the end.
But Son suggested that he wasn’t best pleased with the way that his side had played.
“I’m really frustrated,” the £22 million forward said (BBC Sport). “We should have enjoyed the game more. The first 30 minutes was attacking, enjoying playing football, everybody was moving.
“But the team – I didn’t expect it that way. It shouldn’t have happened.
“It’s a good lesson to calm down, to be humble and respect our opponent.”

Son the perfectionist
Son’s attitude shows just what a perfectionist he is.
Tottenham should also improve as time goes by, and they adjust to Conte’s system.
Spurs had barely had any time to work on their new formation in training before being thrust into action.
What was clear was that Tottenham were running with more intensity than they ever did under Nuno, and that should stand them in good stead for the future.
Tottenham are next in action against Everton at the weekend.
