Dario Osorio admits he is ‘ready’ to try and make a name for himself in Europe as Wolves agree a £4 million fee to bring the Universidad de Chile wonderkid to the Premier League, speaking to La Tercera.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have a history when it comes to putting plenty of faith in unproven teenagers.

And while such an approach has been predictably mixed in it’s results – from Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Fabio Silva and Bruno Jordao – Osorio certainly feels like a risk worth taking a punt on.

The winger won’t even turn 19 until January but he’s already forced his way into the Chilean national team. Comparisons between Osorio and a young Angel di Maria, meanwhile, speak volumes about his vast potential and game-changing abilities.

“I am quite struck by everything that has been written about me. But I try not to focus on that. I try to concentrate on The U (Universidad de Chile),” Osorio says amid ever-swelling speculation.

“I don’t put pressure on myself with what they (the media) say.

“Am I ready to make the leap abroad? Yes, I’m ready to take the leap. But I’m not desperate to get out of The U. I try to continue working, to gain confidence.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

According to TNT Sport, Wolves have agreed a £4 million fee with Universidad. There is still work to be done, however, with Real Madrid and Manchester City among the clubs also keeping tabs on Osorio.

What’s more, the 18-year-old is in no rush to leave a team sitting 11th in the Chilean league table, even if his dreams of domestic glory at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez look a long way from becoming reality.

“I feel good on the ball but I have always liked to learn. I like to take the advice they (the coaches) give me and apply it,” Osorio adds.

“My dream is to become champion at The U and see what happens. That is my dream.”
