Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been reacting after Newcastle United were linked with a move for Tyrone Mings.

The Magpies are apparently after a new defender, and Mings is reportedly one they’re looking at.

Mings, of course, worked under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth, and it seems as though Howe is keen to reunite with the England international.

Interestingly, despite Mings being the club captain, Villa fans are actually keen to see the left-footer head to St James’ Park.

Mings has been a consistent performer for Villa for some time, but this season he’s not been at his best and it seems as though the fan sentiment at Villa Park has shifted.

Fans are actively calling for him to leave, while some even offered to drive him to Tyneside.

Whether or not this move comes to fruition remains to be seen, but if Newcastle do come in for Mings, there will be a fair few Villa fans happy to see him go.

Here’s what the Villa Park faithful have been saying on social media…
