Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in anger after seeing what Liverpool posted, as the Reds allegedly close in on a deal with FC Porto for Luis Diaz.

What’s the story?

Well, according to The Athletic, Liverpool are on course to complete a €60m (£50m) move for Diaz, despite Tottenham wanting to sign him.

Sky Sports add that Spurs are willing to match the sum Liverpool will pay, although the Colombia international prefers a move to Anfield.

Now, to rub salt in Tottenham’s wounds, Liverpool posted highlights of their 3-1 win against Spurs last season shortly after the news broke.

Understandably, the Tottenham fans couldn’t believe it.

Of course, it’s a major coincidence that the Reds just happened to beat Spurs on this exact day last year.

Nevertheless, the Spurs supporters feel like Liverpool are rubbing the Diaz news in their face – one fan described the tweet as “rude”.

Sky Sports believe Liverpool have sent a team to Argentina to complete a medical, as Diaz is set to take part in Colombia’s World Cup qualifier against the Argentines on Tuesday.

If you don’t know much about Diaz, then strap yourself in – he could storm to stardom under Jürgen Klopp at Anfield.

Aged just 25, the Colombian has unbelievable physical attributes which make him absolutely perfect for the Premier League.

Diaz is rapid, and boasts a broad, powerful frame which he uses to his advantage.

In 28 appearances this season, the FC Porto No.7 has scored 16 goals, while also providing six assists.

Within Liverpool’s squad, only Mohamed Salah has scored more goals than Diaz this term.

Alongside Salah and Sadio Mane, the South American forward should thrive at Anfield, especially with the likes of Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold supplying him.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Liverpool’s tweet…
