Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing William Saliba and Arsenal’s stance on the French defender at the moment.
Saliba had been on the peripheries at the Emirates over the past few years. He had to wait three years for his first-team debut for the Gunners after a £30m move, but now that he’s arrived, he looks worth every penny.
Despite the fact Saliba has only played a handful of games, Romano says that Arsenal wouldn’t even sell the centre-back for £60m if they were offered that much for his services.

Arsenal’s Saliba stance
Romano shared what he knows about this brilliant young player.
“Arsenal decided to invest serious money in this player who needed two years on loan to be ready for Arsenal, but the process around Saliba has been incredible and now, 30 million is incredible to think about William Saliba, his value today is around €60/70/80m, but I’m not sure Arsenal would sell Saliba for 60 (£52m) or 70 (£60m) million Euros,” Romano said.
“Marseille tried to tempt Arsenal, making an official bid to sign him on a permanent deal, but for Arsenal there was no discussing. Arsenal said the player is untouchable and Saliba was delighted with this Arsenal position.
How much is he worth
It’s so early to be speaking about Saliba in these terms, but in a world where transfer fees have gone absolutely berserk, it’s not ridiculous to say that this is a £100m player already.
A 21-year-old France international who is already looking like one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League. Saliba is surely worth close to that £100m mark at the moment.
Someone like Antony at Manchester United went for close to that amount, and it’s fair to say that Saliba is in a similar ballpark to the Brazilian. when it comes to reputation and potential.
Arsenal have no plans to sell this young man, but if they were to cash-in, they’d receive what would surely be a club-record fee.
