Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to comment on Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final.

Jose Mourinho’s men beat Thomas Frank’s side thanks to goals from Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son, on a comfortable night for Spurs.

However, things could’ve been less comfortable had Ivan Toney’s 63rd minute strike not been ruled out by VAR.

The ex-Newcastle striker was deemed to be offside by millimetres.

You can see what Lineker thought of the result in full below.

It’s clear that the BBC Match of the Day host isn’t convinced that the Bees deserved to see their goal ruled out.

It’s also evident that Lineker tips Tottenham to be successful in the Carabao Cup final.

He states that Jose Mourinho doesn’t lose League Cup finals, and jokes that he has nearly won more of them than the competition has had names.

The former Real Madrid boss has won four League Cup titles throughout his managerial career.

Mourinho has won the competition three times with Chelsea, and once with Manchester United.

Seeing as he’s already beaten Manchester City and Manchester United – the two other semi-finalists – once this season, Tottenham could well become the third side he’s won the competition with.
