Well, there’s been official confirmation that Liam Shaw is away to Celtic at the end of the season.
The Sheffield Wednesday starlet was heavily linked with a move to Parkhead during the January transfer window.
Neil Lennon, who was Celtic manager at the time, claimed a couple of months ago that Shaw had indeed signed a pre-contract agreement to head North of the border during the summer.
But there was more or less radio silence from the Owls – until now.
The Championship club released a statement via their official website on the matter yesterday, confirming that the 19-year-old is bound for Glasgow.
But Wednesday also revealed that they were ‘investigating’ the issue in regards to how it entered the ‘public domain’.
Here’s how some fans of the Yorkshire club reacted to the statement:
The young English midfielder has managed 15 league appearances for Wednesday so far this season, the latest of which came in the 3-0 defeat by Reading last weekend.
