Everton suffered another defeat in the Premier League as Manchester City secured a 3-0 win against the Toffees, yet Rodri’s second-half goal stole headlines from the match.

The Spanish international bagged the second and decisive goal of the day as the former Atletico Madrid fired an outrageous first-time hit past the reach of Jordan Pickford.

Indeed, it was a goal that will put likely put Rodri up for an end of season award. With the midfielder, who earns a reported £120,000-a-week, easily the best player on the pitch for City.

With Everton suffering another loss in the Premier League, things are starting to look bleak for Rafa Benitez’s side. Who now sit eight points off the top-four after 12 games.

Discontent amongst supporters has been around for some time. And whilst there is no shame in losing to City, Everton fans have a right to be worried about their current situation.

Moreover, given their run of games in the next few weeks, Everton’s position in the table could go from bad to worst very quickly.
