Milan Skriniar has defined his pride in playing for and not against Inter Milan amid reported transfer interest from Antonio Conte and Tottenham, via quotes by TuttoMercatoWEB.
The 26-year-old moved to the San Siro from Sampdoria in 2017 for €18m (£15m) and has been a mainstay since. He has never featured in fewer than 32 Serie A games in a term and could make his 190th appearance across all competitions on Wednesday against Torino.
Skriniar has already played 22 matches this season, with 16 league outings under Conte’s successor Simone Inzaghi. The Slovakian has also helped to keep eight clean sheets.

Inter Milan and Skriniar saw out 12 Serie A games without conceding for the 2020/21 title under Conte last term. Now, the Italian tactician is keen to seal a reunion in north London.
Reports by Calciomercato cite Inter Milan star Skriniar as one of Conte’s leading Tottenham transfer targets for the January sales. But he also admires Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic and signing both next month is challenging for the Premier League side.
Inter Milan enforcer Skriniar eases Conte’s Tottenham transfer dilemma
Conte may have to decide between Tottenham securing a transfer for Inter Milan’s Skriniar or Fiorentina’s Vlahovic in January. Yet Skriniar may have eased his former boss’ dilemma.
The defender – who Fabrizio Romano claimed Inter told Spurs would cost €50m (£42.5m) in July – has described his pride in wearing the Nerazzurri jersey beside his Inter teammates.
“I have been here for five-years, Inter means a lot to me,” he said. “It is an honour to wear this shirt. We are a great group; everyone has different qualities. I’m lucky to play with and not against them.”

Skriniar’s performances with Inter Milan under Conte took the Tottenham transfer target’s game to an even higher level. The Slovakian Football Association have also named the 48-cap enforcer their Player of the Year for the past two-years.
But Conte may have some work to do to convince his former Inter star Skriniar of a reunion at Tottenham. Thus also possibly freeing Managing Director Fabio Paratici to sign Vlahovic.
