
Arsenal could have a very big and quite unexpected injury boost for tomorrow’s visit of Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners’ FA Cup win over Newcastle United last weekend was overshadowed by a pre-match injury to Gabriel Martinelli.
Martinelli, a £6 million signing in 2019, suffered an ankle issue in the warm-up against the Magpies and subsequently dropped out of the first XI.
The 19-year-old has been an absolute revelation for Arsenal but particularly since regaining full fitness last month.
His return to regular football has coincided with Mikel Arteta’s side going on a four-match winning streak in all competitions.
It looked certain that he’d have to sit out tomorrow’s visit of the Eagles.
But a statement on Arsenal’s official website indicated that the player was rapidly recovering from the problem that sidelined him in the cup and pictures from London Colney today illustrate that he’s already back in training under Arteta.
