Clinton Morrison urged Tottenham to keep Steven Bergwijn after his stunning brace during his side’s 3-2 win at Leicester City on Wednesday night, as he told BBC Sport.
The former Premier League striker praised Bergwijn for his ‘superb’ winner at the King Power and how he is now ‘keeping him’ in north London.
There has been a lot of talk regarding Bergwijn’s future amid rumours that Ajax want to sign up the Dutch winger.
Well, yesterday’s brace from the bench has changed things around for the player and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he now stays put.
Despite that interest, Tottenham-supporting pundit, Morrison, shared how Bergwijn is someone who is a ‘confidence’ player.
“Credit to Steven Bergwijn,” said Morrison. “It’s a superb finish from a tight angle.
“He’s the difference-maker. There are a lot of teams interested in him.
“But if I’m Tottenham, I’m keeping him. He’ll score goals and he’s a confidence player.”

Antonio Conte is deemed to be one of the best coaches in the world and he is proving why at Tottenham.
The Italian is unbeaten in the Premier League since taking charge of Spurs and they are now motoring towards those Champions League places.
Spurs are one point behind fourth-placed West Ham, but more crucially, they have three games in hand on fourth-placed West Ham.
The crazy thing for Tottenham is that they can even afford to slip up slightly and still claim those Champions League places in a comfortable fashion.
There is still a long way to go, but this is one hell of a confidence-booster for those at Spurs and their quest to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
