Aaron Ramsey has told Sky Sports he endured ‘nervy’ moments whilst Rangers negotiated his deadline day loan transfer from Juventus as they made last-ditch changes on Monday.

The Wales maestro has moved to Ibrox for the rest of the season in search of regular game time. Ramsey has only featured five times for the Bianconeri in all competitions so far this term for just 112-minutes. He also last played in Serie A in September against Sampdoria.

Juventus had shopped his services on the market all month, but failed to agree a deal until the last moment. Per The Scottish Sun, the Turin outfit will also continue paying the bulk of his £400k-a-week gross salary. While the Gers were also able to include an option to buy.

Rangers – Juventus negotiations left Aaron Ramsey ‘nervy’ before sealing loan

Negotiations between Rangers and Juventus taking twists and turns right up until Ramsey put pen to paper left the midfielder feeling anxious as he waited to complete the transfer.

He had already discussed moving to the Premiership with Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, plus Gers Sporting Director Ross Wilson. Now, Ramsey’s looking forward to what is ahead.

“It was a little bit nervous at times,” Ramsey said. “There’s things going on back and forth between the clubs, little changes here and there. But I was just happy in the end that we managed to get it done. It’s the first time that it’s happened to me.

“But yeah, it’s definitely a nervy experience. I had a few conversations with Ross and the manager over the last week, so I was very excited and eager to get here. I’m just glad everything went smoothly on Monday and I’m here now.”

It was the first time in his career that the 31-year-old has been involved in a last-gasp move like his to Glasgow. Ramsey joined Arsenal from Cardiff for £5m aged 17 in June 2008 after Manchester United and Everton also spoke with the Bluebirds product on potential moves.

Ramsey also agreed his transfer to Juventus with the Serie A side in February 2019 after the Gunners decided he would not get a new contract. He then moved to Turin that summer as a free agent. And Ramsey could seal his next transfer well in advance with Rangers’ option.

He will, however, not make his Gers debut at Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Wednesday night. Van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports he is a bit short of fitness, but should feature soon.
