Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss how Andy Robertson reacted to seeing Virgil van Dijk back out on the grass at the AXA Training Centre.

The colossal Dutchman was able to do some ball work yesterday as others engaged in full-contact training, and it was great to see him back in action somewhat.

One man who seemed delighted at Van Dijk’s return was Robertson.

The Scotland international could be seen leaning over a balcony at the AXA Training Centre, with a huge grin on his face looking down at the £75 million man.

Van Dijk can also be seen looking up at the Liverpool No.26 with a beaming smile as he aims a wave towards the 26-year-old.

It was a heartwarming interaction between two players who have long been without one another on the football field.

Robertson hasn’t played with Van Dijk since the Merseyside derby on October 17th, and it’s been sad to see what was such an imperious backline decimated by injuries.

Hopefully, we’ll soon be able to see the two interacting on the pitch, rather than behind the scenes at the AXA Training Centre.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Robertson’s reaction to Van Dijk’s return…
