Rio Ferdinand is reacting to the announcement regarding Ben White of Arsenal making the England World Cup squad.
This afternoon, Gareth Southgate revealed his final selection of players that’ll be representing the Three Lions in Qatar during the illustrious tournament.
White is one of three Arsenal players to be included, along with Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka.
Here’s how Ferdinand reacted to the news:
He told his YouTube channel: “Ben White, I’m happy to see him get in there. [He’s been] rewarded for his good performances at Arsenal.”

As Ferdinand pointed out, this is his reward.
The 25-year-old has been absolutely sensational for Arsenal this season as Mikel Arteta’s side sit top of the Premier League.
Remember, he isn’t even playing in his favoured position.
Due to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes looking dominant in central defence, the former Brighton & Hove Albion defender has been forced to play as a right-back.
Even when Takehiro Tomiyasu regained his fitness, the Japan international still can’t get in ahead of White.
His versatility will no doubt have appealed to Southgate in a massive way.
White didn’t play a minute for England during Euro 2020, but he could and probably will have a big role to play in Qatar.
