Reported Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur target Ivan Perisic has seemingly ruled out a move to Jose Mourinho’s side, through his comments on Inter Milan’s official website.

FC Inter News claimed just last month that Leeds and Spurs had made an contact to sign the £13.5 million-rated Perisic from Inter, just after he returned from his loan spell with Bayern Munich.

At that point the Croatian’s future looked very uncertain, and it was understandable why Leeds and Tottenham were looking to capitalise.

But Perisic has moved to suggest that he is delighted to be back in Italy and planning to spend the next two years with Antonio Conte’s side.

“Now I’ve returned to Inter, and I’m happy to be back: I’ve got two years left on my contract, and I hope we can achieve great things together in the next two seasons,” he said.

Perisic’s comments appear to indicate that he will be sticking around at Inter for the foreseeable future.

That could be a boost to the Italian side, as Perisic has proven that he can still have an impact at the highest level, after shining in Bayern’s Champions League win last season.

Whether Tottenham would still have been interested in Perisic after the capture of Gareth Bale is very much up for debate.

But Perisic’s desire to stay could be a blow to Leeds.

While the 31-year-old always appeared to ambitious target for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, he could have been a hugely exciting addition to their squad – and the Whites still are on the hunt for a new forward to increase their attacking threat.
