Ian Wright has stated that Gabriel Martinelli is performing with his chest out after they beat Leeds, as he told Premier League Productions.
The Arsenal legend added that Martinelli is ‘answering’ the manager with what he wants now after his latest display.
On Saturday evening, Martinelli netted a brace as Arsenal thrashed out-of-sorts Leeds 4-1 at Elland Road.
This comes after the 20-year-old scored during his last game when the Gunners leapfrogged West Ham into fourth spot in the Premier League table.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the side, Martinelli is stepping up to the plate and showing his fans that he is the future, alongside the academy stars that have been thriving in recent times.
Wright is loving the player Martinelli is growing into and raved about the player’s display yesterday.
“When you get players like this, and in this form, then you are going to get punished,” said Wright.
He added later on: “That’s his sixth game on the spin now and he is somebody you have to say with what he is doing is becoming a fulcrum of that team.
“I know he is capable of doing that finish (first goal). What he was doing, whilst everything was going okay for Arsenal, when he was coming back from injury and from the bench, was rushing that sort of finish.
“Now, with the fact that Aubameyang’s not in and around him. He’s had six games on the spin now, he knows he is going to play. That kind of give you a little, you walk with your chest out and head up. I am the man now. I am going to show them – this guy is answering what the manager wants now.”

Martinelli has started five out of Arsenal’s last six games and he has scored or assisted in each of those games.
The young Brazillian is riding a wave and ensuring that Arsenal don’t miss their recently-axed captain.
It has been a tough road for the thriving youngster, who would have felt that he probably deserved more minutes under Arteta, although injuries didn’t help his cause.
But if anything, the manner in which Arteta has used him is proving to be correct, so far, because of how far he has come since the ex-midfielder was appointed as the manager.
