Joe Ledley is backing former club Celtic to snatch the bragging rights by beating Old Firm rivals Rangers 2-0 on Sunday.
The Scottish Premiership is gone for Celtic, who have been blown away by Steven Gerrard’s side in ruining their neighbours’ 10-in-a-row bid.
But the Scottish Cup on Sunday represents a chance for the Hoops to get a little bit of revenge on Rangers.
Thing is, the Gers will be huge favourites due to the fact that the game is at Ibrox and the light Blues being 20 points ahead of Celtic in the Premiership.
But Ledley, who three league crowns at Parkhead, can’t see Rangers beating his old side in the cup this weekend.
He told the Celtic Huddle podcast: “I think they will be going in as underdogs. Rangers are the champions and good points ahead. But if you look at that Celtic team, especially with Jamesy Forrest back into it, it’s looking a lot stronger.
“You just don’t know in Old Firm games. Anything can happen.I still believe Celtic can win it and I’m sure they believe as well. I’m going to go 2-0 Celtic. I loved big games and always came through. It’s the best derby in the world.”
It’s been an absolutely dismal season for the Bhoys, both domestically and in terms of their Europa League campaign.
But winning the Scottish Cup – and especially beating Rangers along the way – would offer quite a big consolation and renew some optimism ahead of next season.
