Bas Dost has suggested to BILD that he never really wanted to move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Guardian claimed that Dost was on Spurs’s wishlist, as Jose Mourinho’s side searched for a striker.
But Dost insists that he never wanted to move to Spurs, as he would only have been brought in as back-up to Harry Kane.
“I heard from my advisor that [Tottenham] were really there and were interested, but I don’t think it was ever an issue for me to be a regular there, and I just want to play,” Dost said.
“That’s something, but if you look at my career, I’ve never left a club after just one season. Not now either, especially since I’ve only been able to show a little here. I’m far from finished with Eintracht!”.
Dost is likely to receive far more game time at Eintract Frankfurt rather than Spurs.

The rangy forward has already turned out four times for them this campaign, and has hit the back of the net on three occasions.
Tottenham also will likely still be satisfied with the transfer business they did, despite missing out on Dost.
Spurs went out and signed Carlos Vinicius on loan, as they finally found a new number nine to give some competition to Kane.
Vinicius could now make his Tottenham debut at the weekend, when Mourinho’s side take on West Ham United.
