Manchester United fans on Twitter are mocking Arsenal’s reported interest in Donny van de Beek.
According to 90 Min, Arsenal have made contact with the Red Devils about signing the Dutch international.
Van de Beek only joined Manchester United in a £40 million deal last summer but had a relatively poor first season at Old Trafford.
Even still, a summer move to the Gunners seems unlikely and here’s how some United fans reacted to the speculation on Twitter:
United fans are right to mock it because really, it won’t happen for Arsenal.
Lord knows that the Gunners need some new midfielders, with Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi poised to leave the club.
But there’s no way that Arsenal are going to be able to afford a move for Van de Beek.
Yes, he struggled last season, but Manchester United aren’t going to cut their losses just yet, particularly seen as quite a lot of players need a year to adapt to Premier League life.
The Theatre of Dreams side would kick themselves in a huge way if they sold Van de Beek and he ripped things up in North London and therefore an exit seems unlikely, but especially an exit to Arsenal.
