Some Everton fans on social media aren’t best pleased after they were linked with a move for Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe.
It sounds ridiculous to suggest that Everton supporters would turn their noses up at a player who was once deemed to be worth £72m, but it has to be said, Pepe’s Premier League career hasn’t quite gone to plan.
The winger has struggled in England so far, and he’s even been demoted to the bench after the emergence of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe at Arsenal.
Even though he was once a star in Ligue 1, Everton fans aren’t keen to see him come to Goodison, and, to be fair, we can understand why.
Pepe will undoubtedly be on big money and after Andros Townsend’s strong start to the season, can you really say that he’d be guaranteed a place in Rafa Benitez’s starting XI.
