Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter to share a theory involving Luis Diaz, after Liverpool recorded a 2-0 win over Brighton in the Premier League.

What’s the story?

Well, Carragher was commenting on the gruesome incident which saw Robert Sanchez clatter into the head of Luis Diaz.

Admirably, the Colombian still managed to score when he bravely nodded past the Spaniard, although he took a whack for his troubles.

Somehow, the Brighton glovesman avoided a red card from Mike Dean.

Interestingly, Carragher believes Sanchez would’ve been dismissed if Luis Diaz had missed the target with his effort.

You can see the Sky Sports pundit’s theory in full below.

In our view, Carragher is right.

It was unquestionably a red card – we have no idea how Sanchez wasn’t given his marching orders by Dean.

If the Seagulls hadn’t already been punished by conceding a goal, then their No.1 surely would’ve been dismissed.

Luis Diaz is shining for Liverpool

We can’t remember the last time we saw a player arrive in England and settle in as quickly as Luis Diaz has.

The £37m man now has two goals in five Premier League appearances, while he also provided an assist on his debut in the FA Cup win over Cardiff.

It speaks volumes that he’s walked straight into Jürgen Klopp’s starting XI, which is no easy thing to do.

At the age of just 25, it’s scary to think about how good Luis Diaz can become at Liverpool, under a coach as talented as Klopp.

The sky truly is the limit for Liverpool’s new hero.
