New Rangers signing Aidan McAdams has told The Scottish Sun that it was an “extremely tough decision” to leave Celtic.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper sealed his move to Celtic’s bitter Old Firm rivals on Friday, with the Scottish Sun reporting the fee to be potentially £150,000.

McAdams had been on the Bhoys’ books for almost a decade and his decision to leave for Rangers is unlikely to go down well with fans of his former club.

But the youngster has told The Scottish Sun that it was not an easy decision to leave, but he is “buzzing” for his new adventure with the Ibrox club.

“It was an extremely tough decision to leave Celtic. But I’m buzzing to have signed for Rangers as it is such a massive club with a proud history.

“The games programme for next season was really appealing.

“So it will be good to further my development against some of the best academies and teams from around the world as well as coming up against first-teams here in Scotland.

“I’ve also had a really positive chat with Craig Mulholland and the first team goalkeeping coach Jose Belman about my pathway and development opportunities at the club.”

McAdams is Scotland’s number one at Under-17 level and he will certainly hope to be in and around the senior set-up at Rangers within a couple of years.
