Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Antonio Conte has a ‘very good relationship’ with Tottenham duo Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici, as he told the Transfer Show on Sky Sports (05/01/22 at 5:30 pm).

The Sky reporter added by saying that Tottenham will do ‘significant’ transfer business in the summer and Conte is fully aware of the club’s situation.

The January transfer window is open and Spurs fans will be interested to know who the club add to their ranks this month.

Following their defeat to Chelsea in the EFL Cup last night, it’s understandable that there will be some overreaction to that result.

There will perhaps be more outgoing than incoming in north London, but either way, it will be interesting to see who Conte can lure.

Sky reporter Solhekol was asked about Conte stating that the transfer decisions are ‘not with the manager’ and how that is ‘not going to work with him’, as he issued this pretty exciting response for the fans.

“I think it will this time around,” said Solhekol. “I know in the past Antonio Conte has had an issue with the people upstairs.

“But, on this occasion, he has a very close relationship with Fabio Paratici. The whole situation at Tottenham was explained to him. That is something he signed up to.

“He knows that they are not going to have big, big money to spend this month. But, I think, in the summer, he will have money to spend. I think Spurs will do significant business in the summer.

“From what I am being told. He has a very good relationship with Daniel Levy. And a very good relationship with Paratici.”

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs didn’t spend big compared to their rivals, but they still paid big money for the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

During the previous summer window, when Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge, he was backed by the club paying big bucks for Christian Romero.

As a result of that, it’s going to be interesting to see how much money will be spent this month because fans will want to see changes to the squad after years of abject showing.

But it seems as though the proper moves will be made during the next window and, if fans are patient, in the long-term, they may well be rewarded.
