Roy Keane told Super Sunday on Sky Sports that Nick Pope is ‘better than’ what Tottenham currently have.
The outspoken TV pundit claimed that Spurs have ‘so many average’ players and Nick Pope, Ben Mee, Ashley Westwood and Jack Cork are ‘better than’ what Jose Mourinho has at his disposal.
All of the above players started for Burnley against Spurs, including Pope, who is seemingly a £30 million target for those in North London, according to the Daily Mail.
The Sky pundits were asked whether the likes of Pope and Mee would get into the Spurs side and Keane issued this response.
“I think the keeper and the centre-half are better than what Spurs have got,” said Keane. “And probably even the two lads in midfield.
“I think Tottenham have got so many average players. We talk about the pressure Spurs have got to get into the top four, and all of this carry-on.
“Kane and Son, you take those two out of that team then Spurs are an average Premier League team. And I am being polite.”

Spurs could do with Pope’s services in between the sticks because Lloris’ error-ridden ways are still in his game today.
Whilst the World Cup winner, 34, brings great leadership skills to this Tottenham side, he is also coming at an age where Spurs could and should replace him.
Usually, clubs would use keepers at this age because it’s their best years, but not anymore as a younger approach is taken and Pope fits Tottenham’s bill if they look for his signature in the summer.
