Speaking on the Transfer Talk Podcast, Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves has been discussing Moussa Diaby and Newcastle’s interest in the Frenchman.
The Bayer Leverkusen star has been linked with Newcastle for a little while now, while Arsenal are also keen, and Graves believes that he’s one of the Magpies’ very top targets, claiming that the Tyneside club would absolutely love to get this deal over the line.
Unfortunately, United have been quoted a price as high as £60m for Diaby, and according to Graves, that may be a bit on the high side, even for the richest club in the world.

Graves spoke about Newcastle’s interest in Diaby.
“I think they want a goalkeeper, they’ve been linked with a whole host of goalkeepers. They definitely want to add in all key positions and right wing is another key position, I know your contacts have told you about the likes of Diaby at Leverkusen and Ismaila Sarr at Watford. They’d love to sign Diaby from Leverkusen, I’m absolutely certain, but they’ve been quoted a price of £60m, which might be a bit out of their price range,” Graves said.

Newcastle may feel as though £60m is a high fee for Diaby, but, in our view, that’s actually good value in this day and age.
13 goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga at the age of 22 is no easy feat, and when you consider the fact that Jadon Sancho cost more off the back of a less impressive season statistically, Diaby begins to look like a good deal.
Of course, Newcastle will want to get him for cheaper, but at the age of 22, this is a player who has so much room to improve and this £60m fee could end up looking like a snip if he fulfils his potential.
