Stuart Dallas insists that there will be no divided loyalties when Leeds United meet Liverpool on opening day.

Speaking to BT Sport, Dallas says that he grew up as a Liverpool supporter, but since playing for Leeds his allegiances have changed.

Dallas now counts himself as a fully fledged Whites fan, and he will be hoping to topple the side he used to support on Saturday.

“As a young boy I dreamt of playing in the Premier League and hopefully this weekend I get that opportunity.” Dallas said.

“To play against the team I grew up supporting as well will be extra special – but I’m a Leeds fan now.”

Dallas, who has just been away on international duty with Northern Ireland, surely stands a good chance of starting for Leeds at the weekend.

The 29-year-old appears to have become one of the most reliable players on Leeds’ books since Marcelo Bielsa took over.

Dallas has covered across a whole range of positions, but now seems to have become Leeds’ first choice option at left-back.

Bielsa’s men face a hugely difficult test against Liverpool at the weekend, but the game should give them a good indication of where they are at, as they embark on their first Premier League campaign for 16 years.
