Speaking on the Pitch to Post Podcast, Jamie Redknapp has claimed that he’d love to see Robbie Keane get involved on the Tottenham coaching team.
The Irishman is obviously a modern-day Tottenham legend, and at the age of 40, he’s probably still got a thing or two to teach the Spurs players on the pitch.
Keane has done a bit of coaching, working as Middlesbrough’s assistant during Jonathan Woodgate’s tenure as Boro boss, but Redknapp thinks that he’d be a good fit back at Tottenham.
“He must be in a bit of a tumble-dryer, thinking what’s gone on here? I’ll be honest, I didn’t know he was coaching or managing at any level, and for him to get this opportunity,” Redknapp said about Mason.
“I’m pleased to see that Ledley King is still there, but I’d have liked to have seen Robbie Keane get involved in some capacity as well, I’m a big fan of Robbie and he’s always been a big supporter at the club and what he’s achieved there.”

This is certainly an interesting idea.
King can obviously handle the defensive side of the coaching, while Keane could certainly teach the strikers a thing or two.
This dynamic could be one that works, and Spurs wouldn’t have to worry about chemistry between coaches as Keane and King obviously know one another well from their playing days.
Of course, Keane isn’t involved, so this is just a pipe dream at the moment, but perhaps this is one that Spurs should consider in the future.
