Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Callum Wilson has joked about asking his teammates to hurt Michail Antonio this weekend.

The Jamaican forward is Wilson’s co-host on this podcast, and the pair have a friendly wager around who will score the most goals this season.

Antonio is currently leading that race, while Wilson is still out injured, and in a desperate ploy to catch the West Ham striker, he says he’ll ask his defenders to rough him up a bit.

What’s been said?

Wilson joked about telling the likes of Dan Burn to hurt Antonio.

“The one thing this week is that I can help affect the personal bet we have on who will score the most. I’m currently injured but I can tell my centre-backs to kick the hell out of you in the game, put you in the stand and do whatever they need to do in order to help me win this bet. I’ll tell Dan Burn to give you a kick. But no, I’m hoping we get a positive result,” Wilson said.

Wouldn’t try it

Dan Burn may stand at 6 ft 8, but even he might think twice before he tries to get physical with Antonio.

Yes, he has a massive size advantage, but Antonio is one of the strongest players in the Premier League, and if it came to it, we think he’d be able to give just as good as he gets.

Of course, Wilson is only joking about asking his teammates to get stuck into Antonio, but this may still be a very physical battle between Burn and the West Ham forward.
