Besiktas will sell Ridvan Yilmaz for £8.5 million with the defender keen on a summer move to Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, president Ahmet Nur Cebi tells Toro IT.
Rampaging wing-backs are perhaps the hallmark of the very best Antonio Conte teams.
Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso played arguably the best football of their career under the icey-eyed Italian at Chelsea. Ditto Achraf Hakimi and Ivan Perisic at Inter Milan.
And if Conte is to transform Spurs from perennial bridesmaids into candidates for the biggest pieces of silverware, then one suspects that Emerson Royal, Ryan Sessegnon, Sergio Reguilon and even a revitalised Matt Doherty could have a nervy summer ahead of them.
Yilmaz, Besiktas’ swashbuckling 20-year-old, is just one of many exciting young left-backs who has been linked with a move to the London giants in recent weeks.
Tottenham want Ridvan Yilmaz from Besiktas
Turkiye Gazetesi report that Tottenham have made a first bid of around £6.7 million. And Yilmaz, who’s contributed an impressive seven goals and assists from a so-called defensive role, has made it clear that he would jump at the chance to swap the Super Lig for Spurs.
Besiktas’ president refused to confirm whether or not an offer has arrived from Tottenham, though he did admit that Yilmaz will be sold for the right price.
“Yes it’s true, an official offer has arrived for Ridvan,” Cebi explains. “But we have no intention of accepting it.

“The offer must reach 10 million euros (around £8 million). If someone pays 10 million euros, I will sell Ridvan to Europe. The important thing is to sell Ridvan and then be able to replace him with a new one.”
Sergio Reguilon replaced?
Tottenham are reportedly keen on Stuttgart’s Beckham-esque assist-machine Borna Sosa too, arguably the best crosser of a ball in all of Europe. Well, the best outside of Anfield perhaps.
