Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are reacting to Matteo Guendouzi’s latest performance for Marseille.
Guendouzi has been steadily impressing back in Ligue 1 since Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta deemed him surplus to requirements in North London yet again this season.
And the 23-year-old maintained his form with a classy display on Thursday as the French side drew 1-1 away to Lokomotiv Moscow in their Europa League opener.
Guendouzi, who joined the Gunners in the summer of 2018, recorded a 90 percent passing success rate, according to WhoScored.
The Frenchman also managed four crosses – one of which almost led to a goal – and here’s what Arsenal fans on Twitter were saying about his display:
Is Arteta right?
Probably not, no.
Whatever you think about Guendouzi – and there have been question marks over his attitude – he is surely a better midfield option than Mohamed Elneny.
The Arsenal boss is a fan of the Egypt international but mainly due to his commitment and training-ground form.
On the field, Guendouzi is a much bigger player and selling him to Marseille – who have the option to sign him outright next summer – may go down as a big, big mistake by the North Londoners.
