Tom Pearce wrote on his Instagram story that he will ‘never forget’ scoring his first goal for Leeds United in 2018.
On Wednesday, it was three years to the day that the now-Wigan player scored his first senior goal when Leeds beat Barnsley 2-1 at Elland Road.
At that time, Paul Heckingbottom was in charge of Leeds, and they would go onto finish mid-table before his departure.
But boy have the tables turned for Leeds since, and one man is the brains behind it all… Marcelo Bielsa.
Nonetheless, Pearce, who is now in League One with Wigan, wrote this message on his Instagram about that goal for Leeds.
“A day I will never forget,” he said. “Getting my first professional goal three years ago.”

Kalvin Phillips, Gjanni Alioski, Pablo Hernandez, Liam Copper and Adam Forshaw, who are still here today, were part of that matchday squad three years ago.
Not even the most ardent of Leeds fan would have predicted such a rise from the Yorkshire club.
But step forward Bielsa and he picked up one of English football’s sleeping giants and guided them back to the elite.
