Leeds United fans have reacted on Twitter to Marcelo Bielsa’s claim that he encourages his backroom staff to ‘abandon’ him in order to go into management, as he told his pre-match press conference.
The Leeds boss was talking about two of his former staff members – Diego Flores and Carlos Corberán – who have since gone into management.
Bielsa praised them and stated they are ‘very valuable’ and openly admitted that it’s his ‘dream’ that they leave him to better themselves.
Leeds fans have loved what their boss has had to say and how he puts others first.
Flores is now manager of Argentinian top-flight side, Godoy Cruz, whilst Corberán is on more familiar grounds with Huddersfield Town.
For Corberán, after helping the Terriers avoid relegation last season, his side are now sitting outside of the play-off spots.
Given that he helped the Whites earn promotion then he knows exactly what it’s like to not get over that dotted line and then do so 12 months later.
As for Flores, he has just walked through the doors of his new club – last month – but he is unbeaten in his first four matches.
Bielsa is a popular figure with the Leeds fans as it is, but it seems as though his comments about those who work with him just make him even more popular.
