West Ham United fans have reacted with excitement after rumours suggested that they are keen on Bayern Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.

The Daily Star have claimed that David Moyes is mulling over the prospect of signing Tah after turning down the chance to sign Mykola Matviyenko from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Whilst 24-year-old Tah hasn’t perhaps kicked on ever since becoming a German international four years ago, he is still a highly-thought-of player, who would be one hell of a capture for the Hammers.

Tah’s presence at the back, pace and ability to add an old-school mix to his defending, is something that is needed at the London Stadium.

West Ham fans on Twitter have acknowledged that, but given who is in charge of their club, it’s understandable that they are a little hesitant in getting too over-excited.

There’s not long left before Monday’s deadline and those in East London haven’t provided Moyes with a defensive-minded player, as of yet.

Biggest Premier League transfer deadline day deals in 2019

  1. Alex Iwobi

    Arsenal to Everton: £34 million

  2. Ismaila Sarr

    Rennes to Watford: £30 million

  3. Ryan Sessegnon

    Fulham to Tottenham: £25 million

  4. Kieran Tierney

    Celtic to Arsenal: £25 million

  5. Dennis Praet

    Sampdoria to Leicester: £18 million

Whilst the West Ham fans are angry with the club’s decision to part ways with Grady Diangana, bringing someone like Tah to the club would lift the mood around the place.

The Hammers put four past Wolves in the Premier League over the weekend, but then conceded the same amount as they were knocked out of the League Cup last night to Everton, so that goes to show that there are still inconsistencies at the club.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of West Ham fans reacting to the Tah rumours.
