Newcastle United fans are hoping that Celtic do come in and buy Christian Atsu off them.
Sports World Ghana claim that Celtic are interested in buying the Newcastle wide-man, as they seek to make additions to Neil Lennon’s squad.
Atsu had a very limited impact at Newcastle last term, with the Ghanian struggling for game time.
And it seems that most Newcastle fans are hoping that Atsu’s time at St. James’ Park is coming to an end, after the latest links with Celtic.
If Atsu was to move to Celtic he could offer Neil Lennon’s side real pace out wide.
Atsu would offer a different type of threat to most of Celtic’s current attacking options and a fresh start could actually suit the player.
Atsu joined Newcastle permanently in 2017, but has slipped further and further down the pecking order of late.
The 28-year-old made 22 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions last term, but failed to find the back of the net.
