Brad Friedel says he would happily ‘drive’ Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams to secure a ‘match made in heaven’ transfer to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
The former Premier League goalkeeper shared that he has never coached a player that works harder than Tyler Adams and stated that his fellow countryman is ‘hard as nails’ on the pitch amid talk of a possible move to Chelsea.
Added to that, the former USMNT star thinks that Leeds United would have secured their Premier League safety if the 24-year-old wasn’t injured during the final few months of the campaign, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (07/08/23 at 7:35 pm).
The main reason why the Yorkshire outfit went down was because of their quite abject, toothless and error-prone defence.
Given that they went down on the final day of the season, then those final few months that Adams missed were beyond huge.
Now Leeds have to accept that they could lose the USMNT captain this summer and Friedel thinks he would do wonders under Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.

“If he has the chance to go to Chelsea and play with Mauricio, then I will go drive, pick him up and take him down,” said Friedel. If he doesn’t get injured, then I think Leeds stay up.
“Incredible human being, first and foremost. He works harder than anyone I have ever coached in my life. He can play multiple positions. His best position is in the centre of midfield. Not tall in stature, but strong. Hard as nails. A leader.
“I can’t say enough good things about him. I don’t know what Chelsea is going to do, as far as negotiating the deal.
“But I know Mauricio Pochettino and how well he works. I know how Tyler works. And they could be a match made in heaven. I would be delighted for Mauricio and Tyler.”

Tyler Adams would be an outstanding buy
It seems as though many of the top teams in the Premier League are missing a trick here by not looking to sign Adams from Leeds.
Yes, the Elland Road faithful are hoping and praying, somehow, they can keep hold of their star man.
But he is a Champions League-level player and someone who would, not just provide quality on the field, but immense leadership skills off it.
