Liverpool fans on Twitter are completely against the idea of potentially selling Gini Wijnaldum to Barcelona for £15 million, or even less.

The Mirror have claimed that the Reds are ready to sell their technically-gifted midfielder for £15 million, but the Spanish giants want to pay only £10 million for his services.

It didn’t help Liverpool’s cause when Ronald Koeman was named Barca coach because many could have predicted then that he was going to pounce for his fellow countryman.

A section of Liverpool supporters made it clear that they must receive more for Wijnaldum’s talents even though the 29-year-old is heading into the final year of his contract at Anfield.

Whilst the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk steal the Merseyside limelight between them. A player like Wijnaldum goes under the radar.

Under Klopp, he has been asked to be more robust and there’s no doubt that there is more attacking intent in his legs – In 2019 Klopp labelled his qualities as ‘perfect’, as he told the club’s official website.

Liverpool’s trophies under Jurgen Klopp

  1. Champions League

    2018/19

  2. UEFA Super Cup

    2019

  3. FIFA Club World Cup

    2019

  4. Premier League

    2019/20

His defensive positioning in the middle of the mark, ability to read danger, and make those ahead of him better is what has made him such a top player at Liverpool, but it seems Koeman wants to extract more from his talents at the Nou Camp.

Liverpool fans could accept losing the Dutchman, as long as they get a replacement in, but one thing they are not having is the rumoured fee that Barcelona want for him.
