Jesse Marsch says he will be “disappointed” to see Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in the dugout at Elland Road ahead of Sunday’s clash with Leeds – after Tuchel’s red card against Tottenham last weekend against Tottenham.
Leeds play host to Chelsea with both clubs picking up four points from their opening two games. The Whites, like Chelsea, surrendered a lead and drew 2-2 last time out. Leeds went from 2-0 up, to draw 2-2 with Southampton.
Following the final whistle at Stamford Bridge, both Tuchel and Conte were shown red cards. Having already received yellow cards, Tuchel held on to Conte’s hand at the end of the match – causing plenty of fracas.
Having seen a red card, Marsch says that he will be “disappointed” to see Tuchel in the dugout on Sunday. He makes the point that if a player is shown a red card, they are suspended. A decision on Tuchel is yet to be made.

“That doesn’t seem right. If you get a red card you should be out. I think if you get a red card you shouldn’t be able to play the next match. I’ll be disappointed if he’s on the bench,” Marsch said, as per the club’s YouTube.
Marsch will be ‘disappointed’ if Tuchel allowed in Leeds dugout
Marsch makes a very good point. If a player is sent off, they are not allowed to play for the next three games – if of course, it is a straight red card. So, why should Tuchel be allowed to sit in the Chelsea dugout on Sunday?
Both managers have been given until a certain time to appeal the decision. That might allow them to sit on the bench before an appeal goes through. But if Tuchel is in the dugout, there is an element of him getting away with it.
An announcement is yet to be made on whether the German gaffer can take his place alongside Marsch. Perhaps, Marsch’s strongheld view on it is a way of getting under Tuchel’s skin and an attempt at mind games.
