Former Liverpool defender Igor Biscan has told BetStars that he wants his old side to sign Chelsea attacker Willian this summer after a decent showing at this summer’s World Cup with Brazil.

Liverpool already boast one of the most-feared attacking spearhead’s in World football in Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, but beneath that, Jurgen Klopp has little back-up fire power.

Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would likely be replacements for wide men Salah and Mane, but they are quite some distance behind the latter duo – especially after the Englishmen have suffered injuries of late.

Biscan was asked if there was anyone he would like Liverpool to sign, and he responded by saying he wants the Reds to land a player that has impressed at the World Cup before naming Chelsea’s Willian.

“I’d love to see them bring in some players who have had a good World Cup,” Biscan said. “Willian from Chelsea would be a great signing for Liverpool.

“I’m a fan so I would love to see them bring in players like Willian as they would be really good for the team.”

Back in 2013, Willian told ESPN that he was “Hoping, of course, in the coming days to receive an offer from a club like Liverpool. If even Liverpool, it sure is a great club. I am hopeful and peaceful hoping for the best.”

Willian of Chelsea is seen during the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Chelsea at St. James Park on May 13, 2018 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

However, the 29-year-old opted to join Chelsea and has remained at Stamford Bridge since then, clocking up 236 appearances for the Blues – scoring 44 goals and adding 39 assists, as well as winning two Premier League titles.

He helped Brazil reach the quarter finals of this summer’s World Cup alongside Neymar and Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus in attack, but they finally came undone to Belgium in the last eight.

Willian has two more years remaining on his contract at Chelsea, which is worth £110,000 a week (Daily Star).
