Iga Swiatek is undoubtedly the most successful tennis star in Polish history, but she has also been given a surprising accolade over football legend Robert Lewandowski.
Swiatek became the first Polish player in history to win a Grand Slam when she won the 2020 Roland Garros, and she’s since followed it up with victories at the US Open and Wimbledon.
Lewandowski, meanwhile, is the all-time goalscorer for Poland with 88 goals and he’s shone for the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Swiatek appeared above Lewandowski on a question on Poland’s version of Family Feud about the nation’s ‘Most Outstanding Athlete’ and the world number two has now reacted to the news.

Iga Swiatek reacts to finishing above Robert Lewandowski on Family Feud
Swiatek received 26 votes, compared to Lewandowski’s 22, on a Family Feud question about Poland’s best athlete.
The accolade even shocked Swiatek and the world number two was asked about her thoughts on toppling the football legend.
Speaking to Tennis.com, the Polish star responded: “It’s hard to answer that one, honestly especially across different sports.
“There was a big discussion on the internet. I was surprised I was first and Robert was second, so that’s what was a little funny because to me, he’s still a legend. It’s a funny show, so we can all laugh about it.”
Swiatek added more accolades to Polish history this year, when she helped her country win the United Cup for the first time.
She starred alongside Hubert Hurkacz, Katarzyna Kawa, and Jan Zieliński as Poland defeated Switzerland in the final.
Iga Swiatek aims to make more history at the Qatar Open
By her incredible standards, Swiatek had a disappointing Australian Open campaign and she will be looking to bounce back at the Qatar Open.
Swiatek dropped out of the Australian Open at the quarter-final stage during her hunt to achieve the Career Grand Slam.
However, the world number two heads to the Qatar Open with an incredible record at the tournament over the years.
The star won the event in 2023 and 2024, and the only player to defeat her in the last three years is Jelena Ostapenko.
Swiatek will become the first player in the history of the tournament to win the event four times if she lifts the trophy this year.
