West Ham United have been linked with the 25-year-old Frenchman.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, West Ham United are hoping to sign Saint Etienne right-back Kevin Malcuit this summer for just £5million, and if they can seal a deal on the cheap it would be one of the best pieces of business the Hammers have done in quite some time.
West Ham are in desperate need of a new right-back, with manager Slaven Bilic seemingly unconvinced by Sam Byram and opting to play Cheikhou Kouyate out of position as a consequence.
That is affecting West Ham’s overall play – with the midfielder utilised far better alongside Pedro Obiang in the centre of the park – and Malcuit is the perfect remedy.
The 25-year-old is one of the fastest and most talented full-backs in France and he showed in the recent Europa League tie with Manchester United that he can more than hold his own against English opposition.
Saint Etienne may have lost that match but Malcuit was their standout performer, his pace and positional sense proving to be more than a match for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Malcuit may ultimately cost more than the £5miillion currently being mooted, but if West Ham can get a deal done for what, in the inflated transfer market, equates to little more than pennies, they will be laughing.
Young enough to still improve, but old enough to handle the pressure of moving to the Premier League, Malcuit’s arrival would be great news for West Ham; not so for Byram.
