If West Brom stay up, Baggies should propose swap involving Everton’s Michael Keane

West Bromwich Albion should perhaps take note of a recent report regarding Everton defender Michael Keane’s future.

With West Brom currently seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League, it seems highly unlikely that the Baggies will currently be giving too much thought to their transfer plans for the next window.

Alan Pardew will want to concentrate on trying to drag his team out of trouble before he considers the players that they will be looking at in the summer – but perhaps a recent report should alert him enough to put one player on his radar if they manage to pull off a great escape.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Everton are willing to consider selling Michael Keane at the end of the campaign, and may even be prepared to let the England international leave for less than the £30 million that they spent on signing him from Burnley.

Meanwhile, West Brom are facing an extremely difficult decision regarding one of their own centre-backs this summer should they manage to stay in the Premier League.

According to Sky Sports, Jonny Evans is out of contract at The Hawthorns at the end of next season. And while Sky Sports suggests that relegation will mean that he will be able to leave for just £3 million in the summer, staying up will leave Pardew with a tricky call – should he keep the Northern Irishman and risk losing him for nothing in 2019 in the hope that he changes his mind and signs a new contract, or should he sell while his value may be relatively high?

If he decides to consider selling Evans, perhaps West Brom should reach out to Everton in the hope that they can try and agree some kind of swap deal.

The Daily Mirror reported ahead of the most recent January transfer window that the Toffees are keen on Evans, so perhaps there may be some scope for the two clubs to come to a deal which involves Keane leaving Goodison Park and Evans heading the other way.
