Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing Leeds United’s managerial search and the idea of Marcelo Bielsa returning to the club.
The Argentine was, of course, sacked by Leeds last season, but Seaman says that he’s coming round to the idea of bringing the South American back to Elland Road for a second bite at the cherry.
Bielsa was, of course, a fan favourite during his time in West Yorkshire, and Seaman, a lifelone Leeds fan, seems to be a huge supporter of El Loco.
In fact, Seaman says that he wouldn’t only want Bielsa back for this season, he’d happily keep him at the club for another season in the Championship if Leeds were to be relegated.

“Now you start to think of who is going to go in there. There’s even talk about the Messiah (Bielsa) going back. The more I think about it, the more I think yes. Not only because of what he did before, but even if we went down, you’d want him to be the one to bring you back up wouldn’t you?” Seaman said.
A lot of fun
As Seaman says, Bielsa returning to Leeds may not guarantee them survival in the Premier League, but, honestly, there probably aren’t many Leeds fans who wouldn’t be up for another season in the Championship under Bielsa.
Those two seasons in the second-tier under the Argentine were two of the most electric and exciting campaigns in Leeds’ recent history, and to do that all over again wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
Yes, you wouldn’t get to see top players like Raphinha and Weston McKennie sign, but it’d be exciting football under a manager who gets the club completely.
Perhaps re-appointing Bielsa wouldn’t be the worst move after all.
