Jose Enrique has said on Instagram that he hopes that Darwin Nunez joins Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and not Manchester United, in the summer transfer window.
The former Liverpool star believes that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could make Benfica striker Nunez world class.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with moves for Benfica and Uruguay international striker Nunez in the summer transfer window.
The Manchester Evening News have reported that Manchester United are keen on the 22-year-old striker.
Earlier this week, Correio da Manha reported that Liverpool are determined to sign Nunez and have identified him as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane.
Senegal international forward Mane reportedly wants to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The London Evening Standard have reported that Benfica want £68 million for Nunez.
Enrique wrote on Instagram regarding rumours that Manchester United want Nunez and that he is open to a move to Old Trafford: “I hope this is no true and he come to us instead.
“We should go for him top player that can become world class under Klopp if we sell sadio mane.”

Liverpool or Manchester United for Darwin Nunez?
In our view, Darwin Nunez should move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window, not Manchester United.
Now, of course, United are arguably the biggest club in England, but Liverpool are in a much better position at the moment and regularly win trophies and challenge for major honours.
United are about to embark on another rebuild, this time under Erik ten Hag.
Liverpool are a well-oiled machine, and if Mane leaves, then Nunez could take his place in the team.
Nunez is a striker, but the 22-year-old Uruguayan is able to play out wide as well.
The striker scored 26 goals and gave four assists in the Portuguese league and scored six goals in the Champions League this past season.
