If rumours are to be believed, Arsenal had an offer to sell William Saliba last summer.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed on his Here We Go podcast that AC Milan tried to buy the out-of-favour Frenchman.
But the Italian journalist added that the offer was ‘immediately’ rejected by Arsenal, who spent £27 million on the player 12 months earlier.
The 19-year-old isn’t enjoying his first full season in North London and is yet to even make his senior debut, mainly featuring for the Gunners’ Under-23 side so far.
Romano also claimed that there’ll be renewed interest in January and that the Emirates Stadium outfit could look to loan out the former Saint-Etienne centre-back.
But here’s how Arsenal fans on Twitter reacted to the idea of losing him on a permanent basis.
Arsenal definitely shouldn’t sell Saliba.
Despite not playing, he remains a huge talent and at 19, there’s still so much time for him to get up to speed with Mikel Arteta’s demands for Premier League football.
That being said, the Emirates Stadiums side absolutely should loan him out in January.
Six months of playing senior football is far better for his development than six more months of playing for Steve Bould’s reserve side.
