According to Chilean outlet, La Tercera, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Arturo Vidal, and it’s not too hard to figure out why.

Indeed, Vidal is quite clearly one of Conte’s favourite players.

The midfielder has played under the Italian for both Juventus and Inter, while he was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea during Conte’s tenure at Stamford Bridge.

In fact, Conte spoke very highly of Vidal during his time at Chelsea, stating that he’d like to have the South American alongside him if he went to war.

What’s Conte said about Vidal?

The Italian spoke about how much he respects Vidal when he was linked to Chelsea.

“I must be honest, it’s not right to talk about a player from another team – especially if you try to link this player with us,” Conte said.

“But [Arturo] is a fantastic player. I have a great respect for Arturo, and we spent many years in Juventus together. If we go to war, I’d want him with me.”

What Spurs need

Tottenham need a player like Vidal in the middle of the park.

The Chile international is a born winner and he would add a bit more gravitas to the Tottenham midfield.

Conte knows how to get the best out of him, and while his best years may be slightly behind him, he’d be a real asset if Tottenham could secure his signature.

Keep an eye on this rumour.

Juventus cemented a 29th title triumph a week before after another near flawless campaign, but for coach Antonio Conte hoisting the club back among the giants of European football will continue to be hampered by a cash-strapped Serie A.
