David Moyes lauded the Celtic supporters for the noise they generated during West Ham’s pre-season thumping at Paradise on Saturday.
The Scotsman told West Ham’s official website that the 18,000 supporters inside Celtic Park felt like ‘60,000’ and he is hoping his team can generate a similar noise at the London Stadium.
It wasn’t the best of afternoon’s for the Scottish giants because they shipped six goals against the Premier League outfit.
But Moyes thinks in the first half Celtic played ‘very well’ despite them being blown away in a worrying fashion.
“He was the coach (on his Dad) of an amateur team and as a boy, I used to watch how they organised and the planning and I’ve been brought up in a real football family,” said Moyes.
“He was very much about the young players, and I found when I played for Celtic they were very much about young players too, always promoting their young players and trying to get them in the team.
“I learned some really good habits and the big thing I learned at Celtic is that they want to play entertaining football and I thought in the first half they played very well today and gave us a really difficult game.
“I thought the 18,000 in here today was 60,000. We’ve got a fabulous stadium at London Stadium and if we can get the noise there was today it’ll going to be great. This club has had great European nights and I hope we can say the same too moving into the future.”

Both Celtic and West Ham will be competing in Europe ahead of the new campaign, but the Hoops need to produce a result against FC Midtjylland in the second leg if they want to continue on that Champions League path.
Celtic fans have to keep faith in Ange Postecoglou if things do go wrong in Denmark because as annoyed as they will be, he has just walked through the doors.
But that’s the pressure cooker of a job the former Australian coach is in and it will only intensify as the weeks pass by.
As for the Hammers, it’s Europa League nights for them and a chance for their supporters to relive some of their glory days.
