Three reported loan targets would make Aston Villa promotion favourites

Aston Villa have been linked with a triple loan swoop for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham, Yannick Bolasie of Everton and West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass.

Aston Villa are hoping to complete three loans signings before the window shuts, according to the Daily Star, with all three coming from Premier League clubs.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, along with Everton and West Ham United wingers Yannick Bolasie and Robert Snodgrass, are on Steve Bruce’s wishlist.

It was a tricky start to the summer for Villa, with incoming transfers limited because of financial restrictions under former owner Tony Xia.

Yet since Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens took over at the club, those issues have subsided and while the Villans can no longer make permanent transfers, they can bring in reinforcements on loan.

Final piece of the promotion jigsaw

Bruce’s men have made an impressive start to the new season, winning both of their Championship matches so far and acquiring three players of such high quality at that level could make them promotion favourites this season.

Abraham may have only scored five Premier League goals for Swansea City last term, but in 2016/17 the 20-year-old was prolific at Bristol City, netting 23 times in 41 league matches.

As for Snodgrass, fans at Villa Park are already aware of the what the Hammers star can do with the 30-year-old providing 14 assists while on loan there last campaign to finish with the most in the division.

Finally Bolasie, who has played in the top flight for the past five years, but previously helped Crystal Palace get promoted from the Championship back in 2013.
