Leeds United have reportedly seen a second bid for Ben White rejected.
The Whites are trying to sign the Brighton centre-back on a permanent basis after impressing at Elland Road last season, helping Marcelo Bielsa’s side to Premier League promotion.
And according to Sky Sports News, Leeds’ Director of Football Victor Orta has failed with a £22 million offer, an improvement on the initial £18.5 million attempt that was lodged.
Here’s how fans of the West Yorkshire club are reacting to the speculation on Twitter:
Albion fans mocked Leeds’ attempt on Saturday, arguing that their star player – who’s never made a league appearance for them – is going to be worth a lot more.
And that much is probably true, that White will be worth a fortune over the coming years because he’s only 22, but he has also rejected two contract extensions by the Seagulls.
It looks like the player himself is keen to leave and that in itself hurts the club’s realistic valuation of him.
