The attacked has failed to live up to his own high expectations since signing for Tottenham Hotspur.

Son Heung Min celebrates scoring the first goal for Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from Sport Bild, Wolfsburg are set to return for Tottenham Hotspur player Heung-Min Son in January, with Spurs putting a £35million price tag on the player’s head.

That is a huge sum for a player who, while doing far better than the naysayers would have you believe, has failed to replicate his best form since swapping the Bundesliga for the Premier League.

Signed for £22million in the summer of 2014, Son is allegedly now priced at £13million more than that despite having his worst goal return since the 2011/2012 season.

A long-term contract will certainly play its part, but if Tottenham really rate Son so highly it will be interesting to see how the next few months play out.

A £35million-rated player should be featuring more often than not; he should also be scoring and assisting on a regular basis.

Son certainly has the innate talent to excel at White Hart Lane, and his fans will be desperate for him to prove he has a future in North London.

Because let’s face it, if he does not, and Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino decides to cash in, when January rolls round Tottenham will not get £35million for a fringe player, even in this inflated market.
